Barbara Schmidt, principle of Tile and Texture, launched Tile and Texture in 2001 to realize her passion for artisan tiles, textiles, art and her enduring appetite for interior design solutions. Through careful listening, and needs assessment she creates a pathway for client projects to transform how they live in their homes. She often jokes with her clients that she keeps a futon in the back of her car to “act as her client’s therapists” in navigating decisions and overcoming design challenges with their families.
Barbara earned a bachelor degree in Interior Design from Purdue University. After 20 years of essential technical experience in the design industry she channels her creative talents into thoughtful, functional creative spaces that reflect her client’s tastes, lifestyles and sense of well being.
