New Canaan Transitional

The conversation began with our new clients who had just purchased an existing gracious colonial style home.

We are thrilled with our purchase, but we feel that it needs a new story that reflects us.

A fresh updated transitional style throughout the home with a coastal Connecticut touch for the new master bedroom suite was the shared vision for the warm-hearted, tight-knit family.

Nothing could be too precious. The family wanted to live a life with ease when at home enjoying family and friends and each other.

For the master bath, I chose an elegant yet easy care Glassos vanity countertop in a high polish paired with a more delicate backsplash mosaic tile of mother of pearl and white Thassos marble for the non-wet areas of the backsplash. For the kitchen I specified a washable leather look upholstered chair for great style and easy care.

The newly designed and constructed Master suite involved repositioning the marble fireplace for better balance and function of the floor plan. The soft nuanced colors mixed with satin and polished finishes in the master bath creates a sense of calm at the beginning and end of the day.

I often reach out to local artisans when I cannot find the perfect piece for our needs.
The dining room table needed to be able to comfortably seat a large group during the holidays. A local artisan was able to execute my contemporary natural walnut table style with leaves to be added as needed.

The family room required an unusually undersized and stylish media cabinet that could handle a network of electrical wires. The cabinet was custom built to our exact needs and finish and adds a tailored fresh style to the room.
